The Conjuring is under the genre horror, mystery, and thriller and has an audience score rating of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie poster shows the secluded farmhouse where a big family moves into and begins to experience paranormal phenomenon. What really contributes to the fear factor of this movie is that it is based on a true story. The story follows the Perron family in Rhode Island in the 1970s, who got help from popular paranormal investigators and demonologists Lorraine and Ed Warren, played by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. I chose this movie as one of the best horror movies because it shows how something terrifying can happen to a perfectly normal family, as reflected on the poster with a pleasant looking home pictured next to an ominous tree.
