This flag, once again the work of Gilbert Baker, includes the colors red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple. Pink fabric was not freely available at the time due to national shortages, so the pink stripe at the top of the flag was removed in order to mass-produce the flag for a fast-growing queer community. This flag was only produced for a short period of time spanning 1978 and 1979, as after that the cyan stripe was also removed, resulting in a 6 color flag.
