This flag is known as either the 2017 flag or the Philadelphia flag, as it was created by the city of Philadelphia in 2017. The black and brown stripes at the top of the flag are representative of BIPOC and the various issues they face as a result of their marginalized identities. This flag was relatively controversial, especially when it was first released, as some believed it isolated non-BIPOC members of the queer community. Despite this, however, the flag is still commonly used, especially among BIPOC.
