The Chevrolet Corvette (C2) is the second generation of the Chevrolet Corvette sports car and is produced by  the Chevrolet division of General Motors between the years 1963 and 1967. Assembled in St. Louis, Missouri, his car is also known as the Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray.

1963 marked a crucial year for the Corvette with the addition of impressive wheels and a 396 Big Block V8. 1966 would see the release of the 427, 430 HP L-88 model, “one of the most-sought antique Corvettes” today.

The C2 series would wrap up in 1967 after the addition of 5 slot fender vents and “the renowned 1967 hood scoop,” plus the iconic Stinger stripe. After 5 years of refinements, the 1967 model would be the best of its line.

I included this car in my collection due to how celebrated this vehicle is in the automotive community. It is praised for its handling, road adhesion, and sheer power. It too has been awarded many accolades. Car Life magazine bestowed its annual Award for Engineering Excellence on the 1963 Sting Ray. In addition, Sports Car International named the Sting Ray number five on its 2004 list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s.
