The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is a renowned building in Kuala Lumpur, located in front of Dataran Merdeka. It was built in 1897 and was named after the Sultan of Selangor at that time. It incorporates Moorish features and is made out of red bricks. The structure of the building also incorporates the use of arches to help with ventilation, as Malaysia is generally hot and humid all year round. The highlight of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building is the famous clock tower which is located in the center of the building.
