This flag is known as the “Progress Flag”, and was created in 2018 by activist Daniel Quasar. This flag includes the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple stripes of the 6 color flag, but also includes a chevron with white, pink, light blue, brown, and black stripes on the left side. The black stripe on the chevron is representative of people with HIV/AIDS and people who died of the disease, especially during the height of the AIDS epidemic. The brown stripe is representative of POC. The white, pink, and light blue stripes on the chevron are representative of the trans community. These stripes are on the chevron because they create an arrow, showing movement and progress towards acceptance of these identities but still shows that steps have to be taken to affirm them due to their marginalization.
